Has anyone had after-market tints put on?

I had mine done and I'm not 100% happy but from the outside they look good except the back. There's a white line round the outside where it goes over the raised dots. Anyone else have this problem or should I go and abuse them?

We have aftermarket tints on the Elite and they are pretty much spot on - tbh I would say that if you have paid any amount of money for them ,you should expect the absolute best. I would have no qualms about going back and questioning them if you're not completely happy - it can't do any harm.

u mean on the rear window.

im afraid they all do that i was told by my tinter to get a dry cloth and press around the raised area around the window u will have to do this nearly every day for a couple of weeks. but it will still be there just not as bad.

but dont do it yet untill your tints have dried 2 or three days depending on weather.

I get this with livery stickers on the car, but after time the sunlight heat seems to pull them in to the body. hth

You got pics to show how bad it is Carl? The rear matrix (dots) are unfortunately the area where tints will not stick completely flat - due to them being raised dots - so that part stands out a bit. If you're meaning a white line right around the edge then I wouldn't have thought it should be like that - piccies would help though.

I'm on holiday so don't have my computer or any other with bluetooth to get pics off. It is on the dots though yes and it was done last Thursday.

In that case it's something that is basically inevitable - just depends to what degree yours is as to whether it can be classed acceptable.

As above, you can lessen the severity by rubbing the film against the window regularly - ideally when the film is hot from a sunny day (yeah, I know - fat chance of that!! lol). You can then gradually improve how it sits, but with tints you're never going to completely get rid of the dots simply because they are raised and the film can't fit totally flat on the glass.
