    Eek My renewal came in

And i nearly had a heart attack. I have full no claims "10 years" protected. Endsleigh is the company and I dont know what these people think they are doing. " trying to rip me off " They have quoted me 785 quid for my signum. Last year it was 500 quid. I made a quick call just to ask them why it's gone up more than 50% with nothing changed. They said maybe the area i live in has gone up on the crime list. I said i can show them a report from the police that my area has had no crime increase this year. We have a private website which the area police publish thus stuff.

So i'm going to tell them to stick it and i'll be shoping around.
I have heard Adrian flux is quite good.
Any one else i should try?

Tesco did the same to me for my Edition100 (6 points, but 9 years ncd - and I'm over 50) - from £720 to £860

Went to Prudential and saved £200 - worth a try. Incidentally Adrian Flux quoted me £760. And Prudential throw in a year's Green Flag Recovery in the price. Hope this helps.

Endsleigh are only good for students and 'first timers' and drivers of small-engined "shopping trollies".

Esure did the same. All I did was go to Confused.com and get another Esure quote which was £50 cheaper than I was paying already with them, I then just rang them up and canceled my renewal and started a new policy with them. I told them what I was doing and they said that was the best thing to do. Doesn't add up but there you go.

I had a similar experience with Direct Line earlier this year. Eventually got it dropped when I told them an online quote with them was coming in less!!

It's not just that, it's also how many people have made claims in your area that can affect renewals - even if those claims are not crime related. It was a possible reason given to me when I rang them - soon proved it was twaddle given that the online quote came out less.

There was other stuff as well which is in that thread - save me typing it all out again here.

My Vectra C was costing me just under £800 per year to insure. In a slightly dodgy area in Manchester so ok I thought fair do's.

I've insured an Astra Coupe for a year for .. .. . £300 a year. That's a massive difference. The Saab was cheaper to insure than the Vec as well.

OK the Vectra was quite highly modded and I'd declared everything, but it's still a big difference. It must be the reps writing them off on the motorways.

Well i have just tried confused.com and they came up with 23 company's cheaper than Endleigh. Swiftcover.com are 508 quid.
Endsligh quoted me 785 on paper and 654 online. What a load of cr#p. Well balls to them i'm going with Swiftcover.

Yep, sounds about right. Same with DL - online quote was cheaper as you got an online discount. What about a similar loyal renewing customer discount!! They eventually matched the online one after a couple of phone calls but it's bl**dy annoying when you have to go through all the ballache to do so.
