What a bargain you got mate. You will love it. I'm not sure of any cheap hotel's sorry mate. I stayed 1 hr upstate when i worked over their.
If you have a rental car you must visit the Woodburn outlet mall about 1 hr north. You should be able to google it. Bargains plenty. Have a great time mate.

Carl, I stayed in Hotel Thirty Thirty Last year, http://www.expedia.co.uk/pub/agent.d...=1/htid=522605 Quite Basic but clean and well maintained, and reasonably cheap, located 4 blocks from the Empire state building.

Is that woodbury common? You can get a bus from the main bus terminal fairly cheap. Also have a look at - The wellington, Hotel Metro and the Pennsylvania. I usually stay at the Rooselvelt hotel, Excellent location and a nice clean comfortable hotel.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

    Bargain flights Carl

The cheapest we can get with a direct flight from Glasgow is £700

The last time we stayed in NY we used the wellington, utter pish dont go there Other relatives of mine have used the Novotel on times square a few times and it is apparently lovely, not sure on price though mate
