Got a problem with one of the back boxes on my '04 2.0t petrol vec as it has a huge rusting hole in it!!!

Can anyone tell me if you can just change one of the back boxes or do i need to replace both up to the mid section?

If I have to replace both sides can anyone recommend what to get i.e. stick with vx std or get a magnex - be helpful with approximate costs too please.

just replace the holed one, but i warn you, they're not cheap...like £150 +vat each for genuine one's.. when mine go i'm getting a powerflow system as it works out cheaper....

Thanks for that - i dont suppose you know how much it is for a powerflow system and are you replacing the whole system or just the back boxes?

as and when i do change it will be from the catalyser back..had quotes around £350-£380..

I have a six month old nearside rear silencer complete with chrome oval tip thats standard fit on the sxi / sri models.
70 quid if you know anyone

are you sure its the exhaust and not just the shell ??

yep, they are double skinned cans, but they rust inside out, so if the outer one is holed, the inner isn't far off..

My Powerflow system - single exit, from cat on manifold back was £360

That included stainless flexible section & installing threaded bushing for oxygen sensor.

It does vary between areas so worth checking
