Default Just Cleaned My Car And....

....Now every mark, stone chip, scratch, dent shows up!

I've cleaned it loads of times before, but today I took extra time and care to make it look top notch!

I thought I could just get my near side rear door repaired (car park door ding! ) and all would be fine, and replace my irmy front splitter (that my partner bought me for christmas!) which, along with the bumper, was damaged by a badger! But now it looks like nearly every panel needs respraying!

Would it be worth getting a bodyshop to go over the whole car repairing damage, then blow over it with fresh coat of paint?

If so, how much am I looking at spending?

    Thanks in Advanced!

I know how you feel. I did mine a couple of weeks back, polished and everything and now every stone chip is visible (and on black that means really visible!).

It's not just a "blow over" unless you have a solid colour - looking at your profile I guess yours is Silver? That's lacquered so if I understand it right the laquer would have to be rubbed down, new colour coats and new laquer coats.

There was a recent thread where a member mentioned a guide price of around £120 per panel for a respray, and I think that was a good price compared to another job someone else had.

thats not bad, i was quoted £350 for bonnet and front bumper, one of my younger bro's has a vectra st and he was quoted 3.5k for a full hit and that didn't include any parts that are needed like door buffers and boot spoiler

This is the reason i am a bit reluctant to Polish my car before Trax!

I would be distraught if i polished it and it loked worse than it did before i cleaned it!.

Fair enough - same comment applies though as Ultra blue is 2 stage as well isn't it?

Well I guess that's probably equivalent to 3 or 4 panels (the bumper is complex to do with all the bits that need taking off and masking).
