    confused Changing Front Brake Discs

    Hi Guys and Gals,

    Can anyone out there help ! ! ! !

Im changing the front brakes on my 2.2 dti and have encountered a problem!
I got the pad carrier off having removed the clip and 2 bolts. My problem is thus however. What size and type of socket do i need to remove the old discs? I suspect it to be a Torx socket held by 2 bolts but dont know the size. Also, once ive removed these bolts will i require to remove anything else or is it plain sailing from there? Apologies for being a novice and thanks in advance!

Once you've removed the 2 torx bolts then its just a allen key small bolt holding the disc in place to the hub... Cant quite remember wot size torx socket it is now for the caliper carrier..

gonna run out and see if i can find out...

on 2nd thoughts its been pee'ing it down ground is all wet. will look in the morning before work for ya unless GSi3.2 comes along..

That was just pads though, not discs.

As Plasma said, it's just a couple of Torx bolts - think they are T40 or T45 from memory - and then the small allen key bolt holding the disc in place.

Make sure you give the face of the hub that meets the disc a good going over with a wire brush to clean all the rust etc. off and that you clean the new discs with brake cleaner to remove the layer of oil they apply to stop the discs rusting in storage. (Apologies if you knew all that last stuff and I'm stating the obvious. )
