    Default Goodyear tyres

As most of you will know i recently bought a set of facelift sri alloys with 4 goodyear nct tyres. went out to check the pressures, like i do once a week, and noticed in the manual it says tyres with the same size as mine shouldn't be used as winter tyres. I've never heard of this before but what does it actually mean??

Your manual should not say that your tyre size if standard 215/50/17 is not suitable for winter, as most highish powered veci's have this size tyre as standard. I may be wrong though.

I think it refers too european places such as Sweden that have real winters.... not the uk that gets a bit more rain than than usual.

Countries such as Germany have to change to winter tyres by law after a set date.

As above. The NCT5's are on a host of cars in the UK, I used them on my old SRi in the Winter, no issues there.

That's good! Just when i saw it and went into panic mode!! I have noticed a BIG difference in the ride since changing to alloys. I also noticed the difference in tyre noise, those bridgestones were terrible!!
