    Default Keys locked in boot......

Me, being the idiot i am, managed to shut my keys in the boot earlier on

Luckily enough i didn't lock the doors and was able to press the button inside to open the boot.

Just out of curiosity, if i had locked the doors and couldn't open the boot, would i have been able to get the keys out?

Would be worth getting a 2nd set of keys if you don't have them

    Hi Tamf2007,

I can’t remember who/what/where but something in the grey matter is telling me that someone said that you could send the unlock info (from the other key fob) over a mobile phone.

This is probably bull, but you never know – will need to try myself

P.S. Another thing I am not sure about, is that if the battery runs flat the doors unlock (e.g. if you leave lights on)

Looks like a definite 'no' to me - agree with the boot remaining locked even when the doors aren't, but to me the idea of the boot being opened independently of the doors is just asking for the keys to be locked in the boot.

I discovered something similar - if all the doors are locked except for one of the rear doors (don't ask why - too foolish to explain ), and you close that rear door it will automatically lock. I had left my keys in the ignition!......and all the doors were locked.
An open invitation to a thief.

Had to ask someone I trusted to watch the car while I ran to get my spare keys. The car was in the next road, cos I couldn't park on the road I live in, and unlike now, I did not have the use of a driveway. Scary...........

Once bitten........you know it makes sense

From what I can recall, it was bull! One of these urban myths banded around.

Isn't there an optional full open/lock setting in the car?

When you unlock the car to open the boot the doors unlock too. That way if you do lock the keys in the boot, the doors are always open.

Must admit have thought this myself, if I have taken shopping back to the car but not intending to drive away I usually just press the boot release button on the key fob.

Suppose it would be dead easy to drop the keys in with a bag or two and then lock them in !!!!
