    Default BHP Extraction!!

I have the Signum booked in to Torquing BHP next week, after a long chat with Mark the Cabby, and a long chat with Darryl at TBHP, I have decided to get the car re-mapped.

I feel it just needs a little bit more as the Signum is a heavy car, they claim 220bhp and 332lb/ft but a much better torque and power curve, so hopefully on the open road it should be much better than the figures read.

I know both Harry and Mark had theirs done at TBHP and after seeing them in action going to Germany, both cars performed faultlessly.

Let you know how I get on.

It has been postponed. I rang my insurance this morning to inform them what I was planning, they wanted £148 more for the remaining 4 months which I thought was a little too much to be honest.

So I have now decided not to get the car re-mapped until later in the year when the insurance is up for renewal, then I can get quotes including the re-map. But again if it is too silly then I won't bother.

I could cancel the current policy and then start again, but now the policy is 9 months old, I would not get anything back.

It is a shame as I was looking forward to it, but hey never mind.

I decided to go to Torquing BHP today to get it done then pay the extra premium.

But it can't be done, the management system on the Euro 4 cars does not allow Torquing BHP to read the ECU which you need to do for the re-map to take place. Other companies have done it but in this case it's a no go until they have sorted the communication for my particular application.

It is a shame, but I had all learning parameters in the ECU re-set, so by it now learning with V-Power diesel etc, it for sure felt more lively after about 50 miles than it did before.

So whilst at one of my customers who do a lot of car testing, I put it on their rolling road, and got 199.2bhp and 303lb.ft

Very pleased considering it is a standard car (With air box mods) but if I go back to low cost diesel it very well may drop of more to standard power at around 184bhp.

So not a total waste of time, but Darryl is going to call me once they have done it and I will go back then, but it could be some time.

Excellent figures there Matt. I think ukanalyst Dave got around 190bhp out of his standard Euro 4......I think his torque was down on standard though
