    Default Wear your Poppy with Pride!

    This is a plea for you guys & gals to go and get yourself a Poppy. There's not a lot of veterans left now and they still need our help.

    Wearing it shows you appreciate the sacrifices they made in the name of freedom.

    Also, there's still people fighting for freedom today!

    Thanks for reading this, and go and get your Poppy today.

    I used to be in the fire service and had go to the service every year. It is held at the cenotaph across the road from my house so it gets quite emotional.
    Some of the youths today need to be given a lesson in the history of this country..........

    My father is a Dunkirk Veteran (something he's proud of) and if I don't go get a poppy he'll disown me,

    I have to agree totally with the sentiment of this thread..One of the most moving experiences you can attend is the remeberance services at the Memen Gate, Ypres...

    IMO remeberence day should carry more weight in the media, not just be a footnote..

    I used to sell the poppies when I was in the cadets... I bought myself 5 yesterday and put a fiver in the pot. Just added a popy to my signature... if any else wants it too:

    I have done battlefield tours of france and belgium and have attended the service at the menin gate ypre. Very very moving and i shall be wearing my poppy with pride.
