Any ideas what could have cause this?
I don`t want to suffer it again...specially in a street with more traffic
There could be a "failsafe" in the autobox software which stops the car moving after an accident. Most cars have inertia sensors which cut the fuel/power (Jaguars suffer from it a lot to reset you had to push a button under the bonnet/hood). When you stopped suddenly it might have triggered a "failsafe" requiring you to reset it by restarting.

I am pretty sure if you get your codes read with tech 2 or the like, you will get some idea of what caused the fault!!

    Assuming it's logged a fault....

A Lot of cars don't actually log anything with little glitches like this.... it has to happen a certain number of "warm-up cycles".
Or, as in the case of mine, the sensor/component has to register a fault, or not send any signal to the ECU at all, an hense it has packed up....
I like the inertia sensor theory... it makes the most sense, as our Laguna did the same thing when a kid didn't look on a round about, and rode out in front of me.. I had to disconnect the battery for 5 mins!!
The ECU light went out, and the car has been fine ever since.

I was told by the garage it was the inertia sensor.
It's to stop the car running over anyone you may have hit, and it's common on all Autos, as they have a tendency to "creep"

    Cheers.

    Matt

That certainly sounds like a possible reason. I remember the bit about the Jaguars that stickshift said - was a monumental PITA for owners!

Really interestig about that inertia sensor....might have been the cause...but as I said it was a hard stop but nothing out of this world....if you know what I mean...I had worst brake up`s before with ABS and all, and it had never happened...I`ll ask one of the "tech`s" at a stealer....hey! you never know they might have an answer for a change
    Thanks for the replys peeps

    Arrrrrrrgggggg
It happened again this afternoon dammmmmmm hiccup in the middle of a very full of traffic street, I lost all of my sexyness in the beast stranded in the middle of traffic
Sorry to bring this issue back on but, any ideas what I can check, and I think the inertia sensor (If any) was not the guilty cause I barely touched the breaks
    Help
