Hi there. I'm a new member so i hope you'll bear with me.
Over the past few weeks i have had a load of trouble just trying to start my 2005 Vectra 2.2 Design. It was very consistent in just not starting at all so in the end i gave in and took it to my main dealer for a diagnostic check.
I got a call within an hour and a half (which amazed me as they normally dont bother ringing at all) to be told that the problem was with the Inlet Manifold and the Fuel Pump. These were to be replaced under the manufacturers warranty. I left the car with them and rang a couple of days later to see if it was ready. I was told they had replaced the two parts but a further error message came up when they tried to run the car and it now need a new throttle body! Again i left it to them to sort and rang a couple of days later as i hadnt heard anything.
This time i was told that after replacing the throttle body, they took it for a test drive and the car reverted to its "Limp Home" mode. A further diagnostic revealed the ECU had completely crashed and needed replacing!! I nipped in to the garage last night to see what was going on and was told they had re-programmed the ECU and when they first ran it, the car was running rough again (problems with idling and revving). They left it 5 minutes and tried again and it ran fine.
The upshot is i have left it with them so it can be run again a couple of times this morning and hopefully everything will be fine. If not i was told they would have to contact Vauxhall Luton and get their technicians opinion!! (Please keep your fingers crossed for me that its ok - i want my baby back!!!)
I just wanted to know if anyone else had ever experienced anything like this with their Vectra/Signum, if this is a common fault, and is it likely to bite me again, once the warranty period has ended???
Sorry, this is rather a long post but i had to get everything in! Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
