    Default caterman box??

hi peeps. iv heard and read a lot about this caterman box and was wondering where i can get my hands on one. any ideas most welcome. i have tried ebay tonight but cant seem to find. i have a 1.9 cdti sri 150 familly bus but just feel it lacks that extra boost sometimes. the need for speed is ever more appealing especialy at the low price these boxes go for. all ponters most appreciated.

    cheers

Check the for sale section. Sometimes one in there. Pm Caterman himself and do a search, there will be a link on here somewhere.

I would think carefully before fitting one with the realibility issues on boxed engines. If yours is still in its warrenty period then Box away! If its not have a long hard think!
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

I've driven 20K on a boxed car, I've used a CR1 box, tried a caterman & now have a Spider box. My favourite is still the first the CR1, they give a huge low down boost & it was built very well. You'll get the same performance from a caterman but the build quality is somewhat lacking. The Spider box is a more expensive digital smart box, gives a much smoother power gain across the full range, claimed to be be the nearest thing to a plug n play remap. All boxes will make the car smoke more though & if as you suggest yours is an estate then don't bother with a box as they play havoc with the DPF

As above - if you can spare the time to keep taking it back to the dealer with the engine management light on, go for it

Is yours the estate? Even if is, and it does have the DPF, it doesn't necessarily mean you'll get the clogging problems with the tuning box. I'm pretty sure Caterman said he used three different boxes on his Signum for quite a few miles without any problems - and he isn't the only one.
Some cars have problems without ever seeing a tuning box, so it's impossible to say if these things are at all responsible for the few problematic cars we hear about on this forum.
Needs to be put into perspective a bit.

ive done 3000 miles from new, box fitted day 1 (I couldnt resist it) and no EM light or problems. Getting 45.5 mpg Av. (Astra BTW) and it goes very well. Almost no turbo lag unless you deliberately use 3rd at a second gear junction or whatever, picks up like a rocket - pushes you back into the seat through the gears. Hits the rev limiter easily on the flat in 6th. For the money its just the best thing you can buy. Fastest car ive left is a focus ST170 on the motorway, accelerating from 80 he was slowly loosing me - and looked very p1ssed off.
