    Default key fob

Hope someone can give me some advice on this.My spare key fob seems to keep going flat, the battery that is.I put a new battery in but if i dont use it for a short while it stops working. My local stealers said that if it keeps doing this i should bring it in as there could be a problem.Obviousely i do not want to do this, not at there inflated prices.I just wondered if anyone has had this problem?Am i synchronizing it properly? All advice welcome.

This keeps happening with my mum's car. What i do is put it in the ignition and switch it on, not fully, just with the dash lights showing, and press the open and lock buttons. As far as i know that re-charges the batteries. I've done it twice and it works fine after that.

I thought they were! My mum has a new shape Astra. i would try a key-cutters then. There are ones who do copies of the electronic keys so they should be able to fit a new battery.

I had this problem with my old 'B' fob so it might be the same problem of a loose connection. try taking it apart, put in a folded piece of thin card to pack out the top of the battery. a VX mexhanic showed years ago and it still works.
