    Default Colour Coding

    Hi All

Im just looking for a bit of advice.

Has anyone got a vectra with black plastic door handles and side skirts and had them proffessionally painted to match the body colour.

Im looking to have this done on my Veccy 1.8 Club in Flame red, but im just wondering roughly how much it costs.

    Any help would be appriciated!

    Thanks in advance.

    Matthew

I got side, front and rear skirts professionally sprayed on my V6 Elite along with some other work. The total cost was £550 + VAT and I'm guessing that for the skirts alone it would be about £250 + VAT.

Don't know about the door handles though I'm afraid.

Have to say it does make a hell of a difference to the appearance of the car.

The dealer shoudl sell new primered door handles ready for spraying to save preperation.

Or secondhand already done would be an easier option... otherwise you would be leaving your car vulnerable while you have the doorhandles out and at the sprayshop.

Just got some quotes for spraying and fitting the following for my 52 Elite - front Irmscher lip spoiler, SRI side skirts, Irmscher rear lip spolier and rear underbumper skirt.

Local body shop with excellent reputation £375+VAT

    Chipsaway £475+VAT not including fitting!!

Car booked in for end of this week - pics later.

Hope this gives a ball park figure. Best advice is to shop around!!

would it be cheaper to buy the chrome covers for the door handles rather than spraying them?

    Hello again,

    Thanks for all your comments.

Yes JKA, it sure does make a difference, and also makes your car look that bit more expensive lol

Kitchpoo, yes im sure the dealer would sell the handles in primer, but i just dont have the time to mess around with taking them off and spraying them. But thanks for the suggestion anyway.

24vElite, i was thinking around the same price as your local bodyshop. The reason im having this done is because i bought the car with the Irmscher lower front bumper extension thing, and if all the plastic trim was colour coded it would look alot smarter.

CYB, yes i could buy chrome covers, but to be honest theyre not really my thing. Id much prefer the side of my car to look like yours. Your car looks ace mate, one of the best cars on this site in my opinion.

    Thanks again guys!
