Unhappy Desperate For Air Con Help

    Hi,

After turning off the air con a really BAD "damp, musty, sweaty feet" smell appears. I have used comma cleaner - it was OK for about a day then back to smelly. I've replaced the pollen filter. I've tried "detol" anti-bac spray and "neutra air" in the air intake - no good.

I've had this veccy for 2 months (05 2.0DTi 15,000 miles) it's been very well looked after.

My previous veccy (53 2.2 petrol) had the same problem, it had been back to the dealers a few times for de-bugging and I periodically done it myself with comma, car plan etc. all to no avail so just gave up as I knew I was changeing the car.

My old Peugeout 307's air con was great, always smelled fresh and clean. (The only good thing about the 307)

It's going in to the dealer in 2 days for an air con service - £89 for de-bug, re-gas - am I just wasting money? If this doesn't work where do I stand with regards to warranty (manufacturers and network Q)?

As much help, suggestions etc. greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

if you have a LIDL near you, there doing an aircon refresh spray for less than a quid, switch your aircon on and have the fans on high, press the spray button till it locks down and leave in the centre of your car while it sprays itself to death. switch off the blowers and the aircon, leave for 30 mins then open all the windows for at least 10 mins.

i got some while in Scotland last week cos the missus trod in dog **** and the smell was horendous, now the car smells sweet as anything and even better when the aircon is on, even if it doesnt work for you, at a quid you cant go wrong

Yeah, gonna get some, though I have used the comma / car plan / vauxhall stuff before - (all same sort of thing, "de-bugging anti bacterial mould killing" spray) but at £1 - can you go wrong?

I had my air-con re-gassed and cleaned recently, so when it's on it is really fresh, and ice cold, but I still get the smell after switching it off. If I don't use air-con, there is no smell. It must come from somewhere.

My Aircon was superv till last week...we had heavy rains over here, and after that it stinks like sweat!.
For some reason I blame the humidity, it´s like something got damped and now smells like a dirty rag
