Is it possible to get a control arm gaiter?

If any of you have been following a recent thread about getting my bearings replaced (for bearings, see hub) then you'll know that the gaiter on the control arm (ball joint) got damaged during a botched attempt to replace the hub. I've contacted a few places, including a Vauxhall dealership, and they all say that you have to get the gaiter with the control arm at a wallet tearing £190. Even second hand from a breakers, that is gonna hurt. Surely there must be a way of replacing the gaiter without buying a whole new control arm?! Can anyone help?!

You use to be able to get new ball joints,drill out the rivets and bolt the new one in but i'm sure in this day and age it's a whole new wishbone

It may be possible to use a gater from a another car..one where you would just have to get the ball joint..pehaps..I'm prob talking rubbish lol
