update on buying bmw330d

Looking at residuals on next car, compared values of my car at 3 years old/120k with 320d beemer, and factored in depreciation- interesting reading

Vectra Sri 1.9CDTi BMW 330d

Cost at 6 months/5000 miles £13,000 £25,000

PX Value at 3 years/ 120k miles £ 4,000 £ 8,000

Loss £ 9,000 £ 17,000

So, to buy a beemer costs an extra £12k upfront, and you lose an extra £8k, on depreciation....

Not good value I think!!!

That's 'cos the depreciation doesn't really bottom out until the cars are around 3 years old, that's why I bought my GSi @ 3 years old as it cost less than £7k
