    Eek Some 1 Help Me....Immobiliser fault?

    I went down my bros garage to see how my car was coming along, we connected the battery back up to move the car, and there is a Car and Padlock sign on the dashboard clocks, and the ignition lights come on but it doesnt turn over when try to start it, how do i get round the car and padlock thingy

    its part of the immobiliser circuit, it relies on the little chip in your key being picked up by the bit around the steering lock to recognise its a valid key being used.

    Dunno what to suggest really, only ever seen it once on mine, took my key out and put it back in.. make sure the key hasnt fallen on the floor and come apart and the chip fallen out or something like that, failing that i think you'd need a tech 2 to see if its the key or the immobiliser.

    Nightmare, how did taking the battery off lose the code in the key?

    either the immobiliser circuit has forgotten your key for some reason or its the key itself, dont know why disconnecting the battery would cause this. maybe something has been knocked around by the steering column somewhere?

    i dont have a spare, ive ordered a flip key from VX, looks like il have to have them both Tech 2 in now then
