Default Car Tax Checker? CO2 Emissions

I've just been checking online about the Car Tax prices, and bands.

    http://www.whatprice.co.uk/car/car-tax.html

This site has the new 2007-2009 prices.

According to my V5 Document, by 2003 (52plate) 1.8 SXi Petrol is chugging out 190g/km CO2.
This puts me in Band F!! £205 / year.

Someone posted on this site before about something similar, and they posted a link to a website that you could check what your car band should be in. (the link above has one, but not for all years/models)
When I went through this other site that I can't remember, it said my car should be doing about 167 and is band D or E (depending on CO2).
So why does my V5 say 190??

Is there anyway to actually get it tested, and changed on V5 if found different?

Thanks, but again, it shows a Vectra 1.8i Hatchback (2006 - only shows 2006-2007 models ) is 170g/km which is Band E, but my V5 says 190g/km, Band F - an extra £45/year.. so far, until they increase AGAIN.

It all depends on when your car was registered, before 23 march 2006 and you don`t have much to worry about, My vxr for example costs me £205 per year as it was registered pre 23 march 2006 ...

    Have a look here ..

Yeh I understand that, but what my car should be and what I'm actually paying are 2 different things.

    I should be paying £165 / year, but I'm paying £205! / year..

My question is, can you take it to a garage and get the CO2 levels checked, and if found to be lower than whats printed on your V5 Car Documents, get them changed??

If such a test existed, then at £45 extra I'm paying per year so far (will be more if and when they rise again) It'll be worth my while to get it tested.

I have a 2003 (03) 1.8 club, and my tax is 184g/km. This puts me just into band E, and it's £165 (up £15 since last year). I can only think that the sxi has higher emissions than the club. Maybe the gearing is different. Something like that.
I know they continually revise the engine specs, management, etc and emissions change over time (I got this from a Peugeot 306 hand book, which lists the emissions over the years, for the same engine, and how they've come down). Probably due to euro emission standards changing.
Parker's list your emissions at 182g/km, and mine at 175g/km, so I can only conclude that they came down again after 2003.
