If you use Firefox, you need to have "Accept cookies from sites" checked. If you select "Keep until: they expire" then your login should be remembered. If you select "Keep until: I close Firefox" then your login will be forgotten when you close the browser. If you select "Keep until: ask me every time", then you should select "Allow" and not "Allow for session" when prompted to accept the cookie.

Hope this helps. I don't normally use IE so I'm not exactly sure what the equivalent settings are.

It's not a forum software issue - it must be a browser/cookie thing.

If you are using IE7 go into Internet options as AJA has shown. Click Advanced tab, Scroll down to the bottom and click "Reset Internet Explorer Settings". This should Make the browser prompt you to save the passwords on all new sites visited. The only drawback to it is you have go through putting in your passwords from scratch but, once done you shouldn't have to again. I had the same problem and with a little experimentation this is what worked for me.
