    Default Regional Meets

    Hi all,

Whilst chatting at this weekends meet (again thanks to Ian & Ed), I wanted to find out what peoples ideas were regarding the frequency of our West Midlands Regional Meets.

    Some ideas are as follows

    - Every Month Meets
    - Every 2 Month Meets
    - Every 3 Month Meets

Also, I know some of you have very good ideas for meeting points around your local vacinity.

If you would like to put your ideas forward within this thread, that would be useful as well.

    Steve

I'm gonna stick my oar in here, sorry

    1. A regular (once a year, usually before or after the show season) Rolling road meet at the same place so members can keep a record of their cars power gains or losses?

    2. Maybe a Motor Sport Event Meet?

    3. Do you have a Vauxhall Specialist in the area that you could approach for discounts and open days for your region.

    4. Also don't forget the children and family orientated meets.

    5. How about no car related meets such as Paintball or Laser Quest?

    6. Also a Good Hotel for a proper social meet and a pint or two?

    Just my tuppenth, sorry.

I don't think there's any harm in having something going on every month - in fact I think it's actually better. They don't have to all be big meets, but just something that lets people meet up on a regular basis and meet other members. It also means that if people can't make one meet, they don't have to wait ages until the next one.

Obviously some of those meets will be bigger ones, like Phil's Santa Pod type ones which would be 'pushed' more - but in the months where there are no such events then just a smaller meet somewhere (mixing between family orientated stuff, non-car and car stuff) just keeps the region busy and people knowing that there is something that they can go to each month.

I think that's something that would benefit all regions personally.

    Just my tuppence.

I'd have to go to Avis for a loaner, wouldn't want my Czecher Cab putting your Vec/Sig's in the shade would you?

Can I vote for all 3?

As Duncan said, regular small meets would mean that there's a better chance of being able to make one. And I like AJA's idea of a regular rolling road.

Maybe we should discuss this over a beer?

How about the Coventry Transport Museum. Its free to get in and there is loads of stuff there for young and old and they can even cater for car clubs. They will let us park/show our cars right outside the museum. Just an idea.

How about a trip to Thruxton for the BTCC finale? (I would suggest that wouldn't I)
