    Default steering wheel swop over

would this steering wheel fit my vauxhall vectra 20.DTI 2003 model. It has 4 spokes and looks the same

Also do the european models have the word "AIRBAG" on the wheel in their language or is it in english ( i can't make out in the picture)

If it fits,is it a a straight forward easy swop over..

I only need the steering wheel badge to complete the change from vauxhall to Opel

Don't mind paying either as i like job done right, you pay for what you get

    ch ears!!

If your steering wheel is a 4 spoke all you need to swap is the airbags, but there is 2 types of connectore depending on the year of your car and the year of car the steering wheel came off, it could be a 1pin or 2 pin connector.

    This might help a bit.

standing on my head, squinting with binoculars I think it says "AIRBAG".

I think duncan said the connectors at the back of the airbag changed in 2003 so i would e-mail the seller to ask. if you get the wrong one, thats it ,your wasted your cash.

if you have the buttons on your steering wheel and a 4 spoke it will fit. just check the airbag connector(s).

    very easy job.

    1. find radio code (as you will need it)
    2. turn steering wheel to expose the two holes at the back (quarter turn to right)
    3. disconnect battery
    4. have cup of tea for 30mins or so
    5. find a small flat blade screwdriver to stick in the holes
    6. gently ease off airbag (being paranoid in case it goes bang)
    7. disconnect revelant connectors
    8. find a T50 TORX bit (found mine in halfrauds)
    9. remove bolt
    10. remove steering wheel ( mine came off easily)
    11. fit new steering wheel
    12 connect airbag
    13 reconnect battery
    14 code radio
    15 stand back and admire

if just changing airbag steps 1 to 7 apply..........

    hope that helps.......

Great info,i don't know if mine has 1 or 2 behind the airbag. But it won't matter cause i could just change the whole steering wheel as its identical apart from the badge.(AND THE SILVER BUTTON SURROUNDS ON MY 1)
If the airbags do fit as you say i can just change that.

I felt the screws behind the steering wheel and there is 1 opposite each other.

    many many thankses

no, you need to check as the wire or wires coming out of the steering column.

have a look tomorrow and you will see what we mean before you buy....

and don't switch the ignition on with the airbag disconnected as you will get a warning light then its a visit to the dealers...

Yep, it changed MY 2003.5 from 1 plug to 2 plugs on the airbags - you gotta check what you have and what the new airbag has. If they're different then it's a no goer.

As John said, the connectors come out of the steering column so you have to know that you have the same number of plugs on your car as are in the new airbag.
