Default TC switch – it works!!!

Fitted the TC switch this evening and SUCCESS, it all works!
Firstly the switch lights up (and dims) with the other dash lights, Secondly, when you press the switch, the yellow TC light between the big dials lights up and the TC is disabled. I tried it out on a wet grass verge a few minutes ago and the low friction wheel spins away like a “good ‘un”.
Like the hrw switch (and most of the others) you can’t accidentally leave it switched on and have to re-press it every time you start the car.

For reference, mine’s a Sept 04 (54 reg) 2.2 Direct (petrol) Sri Automatic.
The switch number I’ve used is: 13138265, @ £9 plus VAT from VX dealer,
and it’s fitted to the right of the radio directly below the alarm switch.

As I can now have an “anti-nanny” button, I feel a lot more confident in facing the winter’s snow.
Need to wash the car too now - the left side being well and truly splattered with mud and bits of grass!

Having had so much success removing the switch blank and fitting a TC switch….what’s next?
Can anyone tell me which is the ‘Nitros’ switch blank?
Actually, while I’m at it I’d really like to fit a 4wd switch so I can really “go anywhere” in the snow……but sadly I’ve run out of switch blanks!!!
    Any more?

    Greetings Doug

I bought and fitted the same switch to my Signum, It does not work on mine at all.
Guess its just one of those things, they must have doen away with it on the Facelift models.

    Regards sent

    Steven

Ed, no the plug was already there - it was literally plug and "play"!

Graham, Mine's a "54" Sept 2004 SRi and am regularly surprised at all the little bit's mine's got that have been deleted more recently - quite a list:
Chrome under windows, Auto Wipers, Auto Dipping Mirror, Centre Console Lighting (from above), Three Back Seat Headrests, Front Cup Holder with "roller shutter" cover, Rear cup holders that slide out of the front edge of the seat and of course, prewiring for the TC switch!
I didn't know anything about the de-specing in 04-05 when I was looking and am very pleased to find that the one I bought has most of the toys still in place.

Mine's a 54 Sri and is missing quite a few of the things mentioned above (auto mirror, wipers and cup holder etc)
Guess I'll have to settle for the heated leather seats, colour sat-nav, electric memory sunroof and 19" alloys.

    Meeowww!
