    Default fitting a diagnostix CR1

    Ok im stumped lol.

Got one end into the common rail ok, but the other plug is a very tight fit and just wont go in. I know im meant to shave a bit off but where? Also, which way up does the plug go? With the little 1 2 3 pointing upwards or downwards?

I seem to recall you shave the two splines off the loom plug (male bit) you are fitting rather then the touch the existing wiring loom. Take a little bit of at a time.

If you fit it the wrong way around the car doesn't work or runs like a tractor, can't remember which.

well the strange this is, i got the plug in half way but i dont think it had joined up properly, but the car started ok.

so i then unplug the common rail connector and tried again but the car wouldnt start.

It didnt feel any different to standard so im guessing it cant have been plugged in 100%?

Pin 1 must go to pin one, if seated properly you can then turn the module up.

ive got that one (the one that plugs into the common rail) in perfect, its the one at the other end im having trouble with (the one that picks up the cars existing loom)

EDIT. its ok, ive worked out what you mean. I'll have another bash tonight. Probably best if i didnt try fitting it in the rain, wind and on a dark terraced street with no torch
