Question tuning box or not to tuning box that is the question

i have a tuning box on my 1.9cdti and think that it is the dogs. but after reading a few threads on here about others who have had them fitted and have developed proplems, i was wondering what the general consensus was about them?

Mine's staying on, but then I'm selling the car anyway.

If I get another vec it'll go on the new one though.

Ask me a couple of months ago I would have said leave it on, the performance on mine was great with a box.

However http://forum.vectra-c.com/showthread.php?t=27696 mines off and staying off.
Hope you have better luck with yours.

As with VV. I put a box on my V6 CDTi, but will now keep the car long term (will probably end up as the wife's / second car) so I took it off. Didn't want the risk of problems after the warranty runs out.

I've just taken the box off as the management light came on and put me into limp home mode.

The dealers said that the ecu needed resetting as the fuel /air mixture was all messed up, They did say that they had done a few of these lately, but it did make me question whether the tuning box was at fault.

Also i think the box i was sent maybe the wrong one as i have the estate cdti 150 with the particulate filter, which could have been the cause of the engine management light.

Going to book it into 888 for a re-map, first chance i get.
