    Default Rear Sensor Opinion Needed

Hello people, got 4 sensors fitted today by Vx. Did specify I wanted them according to factory fit positions as in the brochures or as closely as possible. Didn't seem a problem at the time.

Don't like the placement of the outer 2 sensors, wanted them on the corners for parallel parking etc, so they're currently about 5-6 cms off where I asked.

Also they kick in only when very close to the wall on reversing so I'm worried and annoyed.

Does anyone else have sensors, are mine okay???

    Any comment appreciated thanks.

Hi , I opted not to have the factory fit sensors £425 extra I've just order a Tauras to test before I had some fitted (drilled),

To me they look like they've fitted them in the wrong place, have a look at the factory fitted locations on THIS post. I don't know what any one else would say.

Here's where my factory fited sensor are:

Looks like they might have put them in the wrong place, I'm sure the bumper is marked on the inside where they are supposed to put them.

I'm happy with the inner ones but no the outer ones. I paid £199 all in. They are from Autowatch.

Yer kidding? It's got one of the worst rear views going IMO - practically impossible to work out where the boot is unless it's got a spoiler on it! lol Just my experience from having a Vectra C on loan for a bit. My Signum's easier to park then a Vectra! lol

Going by Jamie's pic it looks like they have stuck them in the wrong place. Too high (which will account for them not detecting until they are close to something) and they should've been further out as well.

As Jamie said, there are markings on the back of the bumper for sensor placement. As you asked for as near as factory fit, that's what they should have done. Take it back if you're not happy - it's going to cost them a new bumper and painting!!

I'm happy with them being above the plate but they're not far out enough. I'm 10-15 cms off the wall when the beeper goes off. I think that's quite close and is hard at night. Hence a little further out would help, just like my old laguna.

Maybe I should take it back??

Interestingly, the mechanic said he'd never seen any markings on the inside bumper, And with mine, he didn't even remove the bumper to do the job.

    Thats useful!, keep it up!

They do look like they may be in the wrong place. I thought the correct places were marked on the inside of the bumper Still unless you take it off and check its hard to know. I think I would complain that they don't work correctly, especially if you need to park in extreamly tight places - like reversing into a garage or up to a wall.
