Is it possible or more to the point is it safe to fit a baby seat ( Maxi-Cosi Priori ) to the centre seat of a Signum ?

personally i dont think i would dare try, and if its so you still have use of the two seats, i tend to think the baby seat will encroach onto both seats and make them all uncomfortable for the passengers

Why not? I really have no idea, just after a bit of an explanation. Its a 3 point seat belt so it should be held ok? I don't have kids at the moment but I have thought about the centre seat for a child seat.....

I was advised by a senior pediatrician at Leeds A&E that it is safer in the middle than on the side seats if you have a 3 point belt. This is all down to side impact protection. Although this was for my vec and I know that the sig centre seat is different so cant really comment on them.

the centre seat isn't wide enough to accomodate the chair it would rock side to side

Solid as a rock mate, Top of seat is secured by belt, seat is sat on rubber seat protector and once its locked in by belt you crank down a secondary base which locks it in place. Although my mothers one doesn't have his feature and yes does not lock in position so we dont use it for that. You can also buy top lock which securely fasten the top of the seat to the top of the car seat. It would be interesting to see some NCAP stuff on this though to confirm this either way as all you mums and dads will know only the best will do when it comes to the safety of our kids.

We use a Britax baby seat in our Siggie but only on the outer seats as they have the isofix mountings. I personally prefer to use these and the seat belt also (belt and braces if you like). Previously we had a Laguna which allegedly was isofix compliant, however the mountings were inaccessible and in order to access them required cutting and re-stitching the seat cover. So we just used the seat belt but we weren't happy with that situation and so changed to the Siggie.
