Default DIESEL DUMP VALVE KIT- Part 2

Now guys I don’t want you getting all girly about this again so no handbags in the car park…..

I had the following mail back from HHTuning regards the dump valve….

The dump valve kit can be fitted to any drive by wire vehicle as long as the correct wire can be found leading to the pedal potentiometer.

The main problem is having the correct pressure hose so the dump valve can be inserted.

Kits are being updated slowly but watch this space!!

does this kit actually remove air from the inlet system or is it just a release of compressed air?

if anybody is intersted in this conversion we can do it at our premesis.

The diesel dump valve kits for the Vectra have not yet been produced by us but im 100% sure that we can make you one up.

We use a small switch which needs to be placed perfectly on the side of your accelerator pedal. There is no need for a control unit as such, simply the valve of your choice, an aluminium T-piece, a solenoid and switch and few more bits and bobs

the going price for a kit can be anything between £150-300 depending on which valve you require.

We can ship them out as kits but you will need to specify the diameter of the pipe at which point you wish to locate the valve (cold or hot side)

    cheers Adam

Is this a kit to create the sound of a Dump Valve?

I would be after something that increased the performance? The sound is not important, I just need more power................... ;-)

no its a real dump valve!! not one of those nasty speaker things !!

it wont give you any more BHP or torque but will help turbo spool up through gearchanges by a small amount.

what effect does it have on the air/fuel ratio when it dumps the air from teh inlet?

this will be still controlled by the idle control valve so this wont really be affected by the dump valve. Most turbo diesels will come with a recirculating dump valve as standard so all you are doing in affect is releasing the boost in to atmosphere instead of back to the turbo inlet.

The prices qouted are supplied only and usually around 2-3 hours max labour is involved. There not hard to fit at all and id say anybody with abit of DIY knowledge could easily do it themselves.

    cheers
