    Default Warranty 3rd party

Was considering buying a warranty for the V, reading the warrantyworks platinum and it reads to me like they only cover a couple of items! surely im wrong?

    can anyone make sense http://www.warrantyworks.co.uk/docs/policyBook.pdf

it covers all mechanial and electrical units and those listed below it. be wary of the "wear and tear" clause and what is the maximum liability?

the exclusions are standard through most policies, ie: interior trim - door seals lights etc ....

does not look too bad on paper.....

thanks, its this bit that confuses me:

Only the parts under the heading ‘All mechanical and electrical parts’ are insured.

and under the heading ‘All mechanical and electrical parts’ is:

    Turbo/Supercharger

    Catalytic Converter
    Air Conditioning

    In car entertainment

    Timing belts

    Casings

which to me reads that JUST the above are covered

All mechanical and electrical parts are
    covered against Mechanical Breakdown on
    the Vehicle together with:
    Turbo/Supercharger
    (Factory fitted)

    Catalytic Converter
    Air Conditioning etc etc

noticed car is an 04 plate? - when in 04 was it registered and what is the mileage?

Statistically, warranties don't make financial sense

The statement is correct in every sense. More than 50% of people will loose out financially from buying a warranty. So statistically they don't make financial sense.

HOWEVER, they do buy peace of mind, knowing that no further expense will be made if 'the worst happens, etc'.
So they are a bit 'what if...' policies. A bit like house insurance, - I have wasted so many years paying for contents insurance, as I haven't claimed.
However, if the house burnt down last week, I wouldn't have to buy all new stuff.

I am willing to take the risk with the car, as I think it is worth it. Maybe, one day, i'll be unlucky.... who knows. That's the risk, I suppose.

A few warranty comapies exclude turbos, even though they say all mechanical components... its a scary world. Why not try a network Q a policy? apparently you can buy from a dealer as long as you have a full check over ...
