Random Corsa C "Not Starting"

I wonder if any of you guys have any ideas on this problem that we are having with my sister in law's Corsa C?

Its a really strange one, Sometimes for no reason at all it will just not start. totally dead. if you jump start if it works fine, and then its fine each and every time after that.

When this happens its few and far between, but when it does it is a huge pain in the bum. What could it be?

Does it crank over and not start? or is it a nothing at all scenario?

Draining Overnight - Boot light is a fav for this.
Dead Cell in battery
Alternator

could be a crankshaft sensor they also cause intermitent starting probs, no fault codes, good luck

ok thanks for your help so far....I've got some more information on the fault....

1. It clicks and clicks but makes no attempt to turn over

2. it will happen even if the car has been run. e.g on a trip into town, stop the car, try and restart but it will not. intermittent again, no warning

in that case, a faulty starter motor. the clicking will be the solineod.

does the car ever turn over with the key or does it need bump starting?

we haven't tried bump starting it. once on the jump pack it starts with the key as normal

oh ok. battery then. replacement battery of a know good subsitute is the only way mate
