I take it you're on about REAR fog lights mate. If you are, then it's correct. Vx only fit one fog light so as not to confuse them as brake lights (their excuse). I believe it's quite easy to connect a wire from the working one over to the other though.

It certainly is. Nothing to do with Vx being stingy, or giving excuses etc. Have a look at this thread BigLick

sorry yes I am on about the rear foglights sorry. But they say they look like brake lights DOOOOHHHHHH what a load trash have you every seen a 3.2 owner apply the brakes NOT. If you connect it over from the other side will that not cause the bulb fail system to kick in. Cheers mate

I'm not sure bud, I've not done it myself. I think there's only one way to find out, and that's to give it a go. I'm personally happy with just one light, but I have to agree with you that the Vx excuse is a load of trash.

Fog lights should be banned as they are more often than not, used inappropriately by people who seem to have no idea what they are for. They are NOT a forcefield to prevent rear end shunts, they are there to give motorists who may be gaining on you a earlier sighting of your vehicle though the FOG. They then should be switched off when the person hehind you is close.
They should not be used where visibility is greater than 100m anyway. Highway code is wasted on soo many people.

Agree with above comments on safety and noticing the intensity change when brakes are applied etc. the car manual calls the nearside fog light bulb a 'spare' and is not wired up. Not sure how VX get round the car being in europe and driving on 'wrong' side and comply to EU law about fog light on 'off side'. Maybe interesting to find out, and no mention in manual.

i have linked them across with a wire works ok,only did this because when in france got stopped by the police when really foggy and told i had a fog lamp out!!!! after a few words was allowed to go on my way, seems strange you can alter the headlight beam from right to left hand drive but no option for rear fog!!!

I found this out when I fitted me Lexus lights, and I have also put a wire across so both lights work, it just looks really odd with one light IMO, specially with Lexus rears.
I've had no issues running both lights, and have used them a few times in the last few weeks as well.
