    Default Cruise control newbie

Hello people, just got a Vx-c, and cant get cruise to work. Don't know if it's me or the car.

Anyway, when switching on the ignition, there is NO cruise control illuminator anywhere. Is that meant to come on???

Followed the instructions in the manual but nothing.

Don't understand previous threads about pulling the clutch. I Have tried pressing the brake before using CC but thats useless.

Still got 19 mnths on Warranty thankgod.

    Any ideas...is it me???

    Much appreciated.

Cruise control only works when you are above a certain speed, this is normally about 20 mph. When you are at a desired speed you then set the cruise control via the indicator stalk and the light will illuminate on the dashboard.

Once the cruse control is set they you can use the speed control to either go faster or slower.

As far as i can remember the "s" button is to lock the speed.

You migh have the same problem as i had when i picked mine up mate, your return spring on the clutch or brake pedal is a bit past it.

When driving, put your foot behind the clutch or brake pedal and lift it towards you, then give your cruise a try again. Bear in mind, i think cruise will not work unless you are going more then 30mph.

Cruise control will not work if you press the brake or clutch. If the pedal is not coming right back up the sensers are thinking that you have your foot on it.

If you have warranty left them take it straight back. I got mine repaired under warranty so it shouldnt be a issue.

    Hope this helps mate.

if all fails take it back under warranty, might be a faulty brake sensor.

Are you moving above 30mph when you try to engage the CC?

It will not work until you are.

If not then you can try flicking the clutch and brake pedals the wrong way with your toes (towards you rather than pushing them) as there are switches that are used to disengage the system when you push the pedals.

If not, go the VX and they should sort it if it's still under warranty.

Thankyou so much. It Worked!!! I pulled the clutch up and then the CC light came on and works just fine as pointed out. Very Happy Thankyou.

But I've just discovered that the Nav panel buttons i.e Navi/BC/Audio/Sound etc and the Dial do NOT illuminate at night. Is it supposed to??? I can't see anything.

When driving, there is a computer display showing fuel consumption etc. I tried pressing Navi for the map but it didn't work, neither did the others around there.

Is it me?? Sorry for asking.

    Thankyou
