Default The wait is over! im here!

Well at least the subject grabbed your attention.

Just registered with this great site, started browsing a few weeks ago after purchasing a 54 Vectra Estate 1.9 CDTI 150, excellent information ive read so far, and ive already fallen in love with the idea of a Tuning Box, ordered one yesterday.

Previous motor was a 02 2.6 Omega Elite, lovely car but to damn thirsty and insurance was stupid.

What do i think of the Vectra, well.... i love it, nearly as nippy as the Omega and much more economical.

Hope to post what i can to help everyone like the posts ive read have helped me.

hi and welcome to the site mate....

your estate will have a diesel particle filter ( DPF ) so beware about fitting a tuning box as they don't seem to work well with them....to get more reliable performance out of a DPF equipped vehicle you'd be better off with a remap that also makes the DPF regenerate more often..

it can lead to total failure of the DPF as the extra soot the tuning box can produce will overwhelm it.. the filter is set to regenerate at a rate for standard cars..remapped cars alter the software to make the DPF work more often vastly reducing the risk to your DPF, a tuning box just fools the fuel rail into supplying fuel at a higher pressure to get more power and doesn't alter the DPF's regeneration cycles at all..

if you can, contact the suppliers and tell them that it's a DPF equipped vehicle and that you don't want a too agressive profile on it to try and give the DPF a chance
