Default My busy week part 2

Well as I knew the paintwork was getting sorted out, last saturday I decided to spend a little cash, rang Steve @ LMF vauxhall and ordered the following:

    • Bilstein B12 kit - Decided I'd had just about enough of the standard, soft, slouchy Elite suspension & wanted a firm "chuckable" ride & I needed a decent drop to combine with my new wheels
    • K&N panel filter
    • Flat blade wipers
The wipers & filter arrived on tuesday, the suspension came on wednesday, spoke a to a mate who lives just along the road about fitting the suspension, he agreed to do it on thursday gone, started late, around 7:30-7:45PM, was too late to take any pics by the time he'd finished as it was too dark!

My car outside my pals house before work commenced:

Close up of front (Look at those gaps!

    Close up of rear:

The kit - Bilstein B12, I'm told by Steve this is a top of the range kit from Bilstein, it comprises of Bilstein shock absorbers with H&R springs that lower 40mm at the front and 30mm at the rear, sounded like a perfect drop to me as the gap at the front of the car always looked bigger than the rear.

First front shock & spring out

    New one in

As I said, was too late to take pics as it was dark and starting to rain, so drove home on a VERY firm ride, it felt absolutely superb, taking it easy of course
Took some pics of how the car was sitting the morning after...

I am very impressed with this kit, it's all you'd expect from a manufacturer such as Bilstein, everything fits first time, the ride is very firm and compared to before the car handles like a train on rails!

That looks spot on, nice work.
The space between wheel and arch is perfect!
Good choice dropping the front a smidgin more than the back, levels it up nicely.

I have a tin of Gold hammerite as it happens! If the weather holds off I might give it a go tommorow, don't want to spend too much time on them though as I have something special lined up for the brakes

Did you do the spring mod on these before you fitted them, or have you not had any problems with them? Creeking I mean.
I'm interested in a kit, and just preparing.
How were they to fit? did you need any special tools to compress the springs to get them on?
