Default Please need help to install headunit!!!

    Hi All,
I tried to install a double din dvd player in my vectra 2004 (1.9 cdti sxi).First I removed my old CDR2005. I plug-in the iso harness from the dvd headunit to the car (without using any extra adapter). There is power but no sound!!! I tried also a pioneer mp3 headunit and I still have the same problem. Anyone can help me? thanks

You need to have the old unit programmed out using a Tech 2 as well. There will be no end of problems otherwise. Also the unit you take out will not work in any other car unless it is programmed out. The units sell well on ebay. I was lucky installing my head unit as it was one the first Vectra C's that did not have quadlock but ISO instead so it was plug and play. Check with your dealer to make sure tho.

Not strictly true m8, you can remove the old headunit WITHOUT Tech 2 and the new system will work ok but the old unit, as you said, will not work in another car unless it has been de-programmed from your car

always thought that the latest head units, such as the cd30,cd40 and cd70 had to be tech 2.i fitted a ccr 2006 out of a 54 reg vec into my 53 reg vec with no probs.

Think they are the ISO plugs with the extra 20 pin plug moulded on top for display / stalk controls etc
