Well the car has undergone major heart surgery as you may have read in previous post's, about £15k's worth.
Well the last time it was in it was for the EGR valve about 4/6 weeks ago. Everything has been fine-ish except for a niggle with the DPF, I think.
Every now and again the car runs really rough, like a petrol misfiring or running on 3 instead of 4 cylinders and if it's stationary it starts to hunt. Then within a few miles of this happening it goes into a REGEN. Now it's only been doing this since the EGR was done and I know there was an ECU update done, which is very co-incidental.
The dealer suggested I speak to Vx today so I did. I have the car booked in for next Friday and they are going to try an upload an old version of the ECU software which I would have had prior to the work being done but they have never done it before and don't know if they can until they try. Well after everything else whats the worse that could happen, they could fry the ECU.
So my question is, do you think the dealer is going to be sucessful in reversing the update? It's been suggested that if succesful then the problem will either go away or perhaps it's time to replace the DPF. Think it might also be time to get Brian the field engineer out.
I know the 1.9 had a recall for DPF update but they didn't issue one for the 184bhp V6 and I think they might have done it sheepisly.
Has anyone else with a V6 and DPF experinced any problems with the engine prior to a REGEN?
