    Default DTUK Green

Thanx to Matt, Designforlife for selling his tuning box to me. I have fitted it this afternoon and although I have only been for a short run in the 1.9CDTi SRi 150 I have noticed the power straight away.

I have worked on Cosworths and RSTurbo's previously, not diesels, so was not sure how easy it would be to fit this "box of tricks" or how effective it would be. I am glad to say that it took me about ten mins from start to finish and when I went out for a "spin"...well....

The power is almost instant and the pull is amazing. I have reduced the lag and punch in the back considerably and now wonder why I waited so long to buy and fit one in the first place. I reccommend them to everyone.

I hope I manage to keep out of trouble and have many a mile of hassle free motoring. I don't think it will be that long before I am on the phone to Matt for the instructions of how to tweek it up a bit.

I've run a tuning box for the last 20K wouldn't want to be without it, just bought a Spider tuning box as an upgrade from Parapaul waiting for that to arrive to see how that performs

does the caterman box cook a DPF or is it fine. i know you should tell t-tuning you have a soot box when orderING but does it have any effect on the Bl00dy DPF.

in short, any more soot than the DPF is designed to expect will be bad for it, hence the rework under warranty that is being carried out on cars that are experiencing DPF failure..VX are trying to sort out a big problem with them..

would i fit a tuning box to a DPF equipped vehicle???.. short answer is No..

    as in many other threads..

DPF is short for diesel particulate filter.. it stops excess soot being emitted from the exhaust pipes.. soot is created when the diesel cars run rich and do not fully burn the fuel..this filter traps the soot and then during a program called the regeneration cycle, it cleans itself, ready for the next use..in theory it's a good idea, but in practice they are just a little too fragile for extra abuse..

on the vectra range they are fitted to vectra 1.9 cdti automatics, all signum diesels and all estates fitted with a CDti engine..
