He needs a DTi Ed... the 1.9 and 3ltr CDTi's are belt driven...
he may be lucky and pick up a late registered 2.2DTI with an 04 plate on it..
Cheers mark, he did mention a 2.2 dti, so that looks like the one for him then.
I saw a few on Auto Trader going reasonable today Ed, especially the 7k 2.2DTi Elite, check it out, there were 2002 DTi's starting at about 4k I think. hth
DTi, might be slower, but at least it gets there.
Mrs D's is a 2.2DTI on an 04 place and it rocks much better than these new fangled CDTI jobbies !!!!!!!!
Back in a V6 !!!!!!!!!!!! And lovin it !!!
Seems to be far more reliable than our family 150 CDTi Chris....
Is the old 2.0 DTI chain driven ?????
To be honest, I would ask why your friend seems to have a dislike to cam belts??
If they are serviced properly, what's the worry??
The CDTi has a greater power density and is capable of more than the DTi is, as it's common rail. Don't get me wrong, the 2.0 DTi was good in my old Vec B, but why the paranoia??
