I'm now armed with my 7mm allen key and rewind tool, courtesy of ebay. So I'm ready to replace the front pads (I thinks). But wheres the safest place to put the stands ?

and if that isn't clear, then place them under the metal subframe and not under the cars floorpan as they'll bend it..

Thanks for advice. I'm assuming the pads need replacing as when I brake I get a grinding noise from the NSF. Its more apparent when the cars is full of bodies or I brake heavily. Like a dull groan, the way I feel when I have to go to work. But strangely, I dont get the noise when its wet only when its dry, Bizarre. !!!

    Any ideas ?

If the pads are down to the metal you will probably need discs aswell - what sort of mileage has the car done?

I've been told that I drive like an old women, thats why I'm suprised about the brakes. I'll have to check the brakes and make sure they are evenly worn.

strange ! people who drive steady who's brakes ive done are normally in worse condition ! i presume its due to lack of movement which allows rust , dirt etc to settle in !?
