Default 1.9 CDTI 150 BHP problem

Folks, works vectra SRi spec 1.9 CDTI 150 BHP, 56 plate with 19000 miles on the clock, estate has broke. The car is used as an ambulance response car and is often standing idleing and then driven at speed to jobs, so it leads quite a hard life. It was serviced at 10,00 miles and apart from the two full set of disc and pads plus countless tyres (some punctured but most worn out) had been faultless until now.

Driving along, then loss of power (would only do 2000 rpm) and plumes of white/grey smoke from the back. No warning lights came on the dash. Pulled over and turned engine off, but it kept running, so took the key out and it was still running. Had to stall the engine to get it to stop. Recovered and off to the dealers its gone. Turns out turbo has gone which in turn has distroyed engine. So new engine required. Just wondering if any Vauxhall techs or owners out there have had similar problems, as my previous personal car (a renault laguna) had a know issue with the turbo on diesels.

    Thanks

fairly common problem on this engine, they have "sorted" problem now with a modified oil feed pipe banjo bolt. There isnt a recall on the engine, they only fit the modified bolt when turbo has failed!!(and blown your engine!!)
