    Default The Signums first service

It does not seem like it, but the Signum has covered 19,000 miles now, so as it is due for it's first service in 1000 miles, thought I would get it done today before I head off to france on Friday.

The usual was done, oil change (Long Life Fully Synth) pollen filter and air filter, and a good check over the car. Nothing to report, it seems weird but they always seem to drive much nice after a service.

£150.00 all in. Just 20,000 miles now to the big service!!!! But another oil/filter change will be done at 30,000 miles!!

£150 that seems a good price! I know what you say about driving better after a service.

Anyone got any idea what service would be due at 50000? Minor? Major?
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

That is cheap!, my first 20k service was £185. Nothing to report either, although they fixed my knotchy clutch pedal.

just paid £92 for a 30,000 mile service ie a oil change. this was after a small arguement over a £10 charge to unblock the windscreen washer filter?. "give it here " he said pulling it across the desk and low and behold i was £10 better off.

so i asked how much will a 40,000 service cost me. i asked, "Will you change the cambelt" i muttered. "oh,thats about 60 or 80k"...

i asked, what do you do then. "oh change the oil again, air filter, pollen filters and check to see if everything is all right. cost at todays prices £250".

now i know a air and pollen filter cost money and the poor mechanic has to take two plastic covers off but for a extra £158 i think not..........
