    Default Cruise control problem

Hi all, just found this place, you seem like a helpful bunch.

The CC on our Signum is playing up, sometimes it works for 10 mins or so until it cuts out but when you press the button to switch it back on the light comes on and then goes out as soon as you take your finger off the switch. Pressing the button repeatedly sometimes makes it come back on but other times has no effect.

It's been back to Vauxhall who diagnosed a CIM sensor problem and quoted us £350 fitted The car is out of warranty as it has done >70k miles. Have tried talking to V'all about it but they don't want to know. Is it likely that this past has failed? Don't really want to spend that much cash if it can be resolved any other way.

Oh, they checked the clutch spring and it's fine apparently.

    Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the site mate. Have you checked the spring yourself? Hold the clutch up with your foot and engage the CC.

Thanks for the tip and the welcome, had a look at the spring and it seems fine. Looks like I'd better start saving up

also check the brake switch by pulling that up as well...either can knock off CC if they don't engage..

I believe I have a problem with my cruise control, nothing will happen in terms of the light coming on the dashboard, regardless of which of the 3 buttons I press on the stalk, any ideas or solutions other than a vauxhall check?

    thanks

nope, looks like you have faulty stalk or a faulty CIM module. Either way, it's back to Vx for diagnostics

My previous Vectra (registered 2004) and current Vectra (registered 2006) both work straight away after reaching the min speed (17mph) required for it to work. I think they're trying to fob you off mate.

Doesn't bother me, the car goes back with the same faults over and over and over again, at each visit
