Angry How to turn two Vectra's into scrap metal in milliseconds.

Overall I like to think that I'm fairly tolorent of drivers who make mistakes, after all we are but human and therefore prone to errors. But then once in a while you come across that one driver who displays a degree of stupidity that can only be measured on an astronomical scale. To further add insult to injury this driver is also a Vectra-C owner who obviously takes pride in his wheels judging by the Irmcher grill and rear spoiler. SO WHY WAS HE SO INTENT ON ATTEMPTING TO PARK HIS PRIDE AND JOY ON MY REAR PASSENGER SEAT.

On the way home from work this evening this person tailgated me at speeds up to 60mph so close that his bonnet was not visible in my rear view mirror. What did he hope to achieve?? If he was trying to show his solidarity to a fellow Vectra driver by demonstrating this type of behaviour then it did not impress in the least

Last year I was the victim of a rear end collision by a wannabe Nascar driver and ended up unable to walk for the following two weeks so I'm naturally wary of anyone who blocks the light through my tailgate. I also had two very close friends who were killed some years back by another driver exhibiting this same ignorant and selfish behaviour.

I know this person works at the same place as me as I've seen his car parked in the works carpark, and knowing what his profession is I would have thought he would have more sense than a lemon.

Sorry for the rant but had to get it out, if any moderators feel this is inapropriate then please delete.

    Regards

    Nidge

    I too feel this pain.

Have a word with him, hopefully he will learn and change his behaviour before something bad happens.

I used to give them the old brakelight treatment.. but now simply cant be a**** with it anymore. As with what Steve said i now pull over when i can call them a **** to myself and let them get on with it.. They'll get whats coming to them, but unfortunately some innocent party will have to pay for it...

Edit.. I've got someone i work with who is a very agressive driver i tell him so and say **** following you home mate, I'll see ya later lol..

This particular road is a country road with a number of high brows and a high volume of traffic in both directions, even at points suitable for passing he remained affixed to my rear

By my calculation he was abyding by the 2 second rule, 2 microsecond rule that is.

    Bit pointless, that.

I normally keep a sensible distance, but some people don't get the message that something a little faster would like to go past, even when there's a nice big free lane for them to pull into with nothing in front.

A couple of flashes on the rhs indicator sometimes works, a quick flash on the xenons is the next stage, followed by moving in a little closer. If they haven't got the message by this point, then, o deary deary me

On a single carraigeway, there's no point in tailgating, as I can't see so well. Better to hang back and get a "run up" for the pass: also means that I have a plan B if it doesn't look good, as I can hit the brakes and tuck back in again. Similarly, no point if all carraigeways are full and nowhere else to go.

He invariably wanted to test your 2.0T against his 'whatever' well done for ignoring him, normaly for people like him I just start really sticking to the speed limits.
