Default Bl**dy dealer - Radiator wrongly mounted

Just been out to top up the washer bottle and out of the corner of my eye I thought something wasn't right...

Sorry about second pic - the camera wouldn't focus properly that close!

First time I've noticed this, its been in for a replacement oil pump shortly after Christmas and then had an oil seal change a few weeks go - I assume that in having the subframe dropped to change the seal someone didn't check everything was lined up when replacing it...

I've had a quick look at how the rad is mounted and I'm not 100% sure how its fixed and if I can get enough movement to seat it properly - is this an easy thing to rectify myself (I don't trust the dealer anymore...) or is it a dealer job?

That happend on my old 2.0 DTi, after the clutch change. They hadn't put the top mounts back in properly..
Take it back and get it sorted.

    Oh, I will.

Trouble is I've got to go to Woking first thing in the morning - the rad feels firm (and it must have been like this for the past 1500mls or so) so it looks like I'll have to risk it.

Take it back and have a firm but polite word with the service manager. Take him to the car and ask him what his opinion is about it. Request politely that it is sorted straight away.

Either that or shake him gently by the throat

I'm not sure what to do at the moment - do I fix it myself or do I take it back so that the dealer knows about it in case one of their techs does it again?

Plus I wonder know if anything else is not put back right, so it may be better that the dealer does it so there's no disputes?!

Lol! The service manager chap's actually quite a decent sort, and one of the techies is as well - its the others I'm not sure about!

dead easy to fix yourself ( though you shouldn't have to.. )

one bolt passes through the bottom of the mount casting.. 13mm socket, undo, locate mount in radiator and tighten bolt back up..job done..you can even do it without raising the car..

I would take it back and while its gettin sorted ask the manager what hes going to through in for free, as its them that have ****ed up, what if it was something that plays a major part that they forgot to replace?
