GSi Vs Sri Buying advice required please!

Hi there mate. Have you thought about the 3.2 V6 Elite. I got my March 03 model earlier this year with 13,000 miles on it for £8,000. It also came with about £500 worth of Irmscher goodies attached.

Same engine and power as the gsi but doesn't have the two visual exhausts (they are there but hidden behind the rear skirt). It isn't as nimble as the gsi or sri round the bends but easliy sorted with some springs and dampers. However it does come with a rather nice full leather interior.

The 3.2 Elite basically looks like any normal Vectra from the outside but the look on those smart asre BMW and Merc drivers faces when you disappear is fun.

hello jam welcome to the site mate ..... I myself have had a vectra B 2.2 sri 150 and the same engine in the new vectra C sri and have progressed into the 3.2 gsi and personally i wished that id bought the gsi 1st .... it would'ave saved me alot of dosh i can tell ya !!!!!

If you don't like diesels ( as i dont ) the gsi is the car to get ..... but if your wanting to get more power out of it .... you wont at the mo, as there is nothing really out there to improve the already good 208 bhp at a reasonable cost !!

therefore if getting power ..... (noteing that every gsi i know thats been on the rollers has above standard bhp ..... mine 10.9 bhp above and scoobys 20 bhp above boasting a whooping 228 bhp with only an induction kit !!!).......the only other veccy to go for is the 2.0T with 175 bhp and a remap will take it to ( ask duncan) 212 bhp in his signum 2.0T !!!

big thanks to everybody who took the time to reply. Definitely fancy the GSi. They're not so common in Scotland it would seem from the garage websites ive looked at so i'll have to see what happens. From what i can gather though whichever one i end up with should be pretty cool. Wouldn't mind a red one either but that might be asking a bit much!!

Thanks mate but i just cant go to that money. Im looking at below 10k and even then knocking a bit of for a cash deal! Maybe im batting above myself here but ive seen the deals available and im totally not bothered about the reg. Ive always had new or nearly new and so have my parents before me and to be honest i think its false economy these days.

The sxi i bought in 2000 cost about 15,500 brand new. I sold it last week for 3,600. Im not going down that road again!!!! Im looking for the gsi cos i'll let soemone else pay the 21,000 and i'll take it for 9,000!

The performance of the 2.2sri and the turbo interest me as well and thanks for taking the time to help me out. Im so impressed by the number of people who replied to my message and gave their advice. Its a credit to the forum and as such i'll try to take an active part in it in the future!

To be honest the c veccy didnt impress me that much until i saw what people has done with them on this forum. If anyone has any more comments or advice i'd be delighted to hear it. I'll post pics of whatever i end up with here and prob do a bit of modding too (!)
