    Default Service costs

just rang the local dealers for a price for a service on my 1.9cdti Signum, it's 2 years old, i was quoted £134, inclusive, so i thought i'd ring a dealers in Ashbourne about 15 miles away, who quoted me £240!!!! he did stress that that price included a brake fluid change!!! when i told him the price i'd had he said he didn't know how they did it for that unless they were using the wrong oil!! i can't see that with it still being under manufactures warranty. does anyone know whats a fair price to pay, after all, all they do is change the oil and filter and have a glance round

Evans Hailshaw (leeds) did mine for £170 for full service + £30 brake fluid change, so I got a couple new tyres from them whilst I was there.

Just had the first servce on my Vectra 1.8 and cost just £180, all they seemed to do was the oil, seems a bit stiff to me?!

Seeing as the long life oil and oil filter is about £30 over the VX counter, (and they get it cheaper of course) - What are you paying over £150 for exactly???

Kick each tyre and look at the fluids??

    That's for the birds IMO

Services are overpriced and not worth it for 40 mins work , but you have to do it if you want to keep your warrenty They do tell you about an air con check you can have for £29.99 during the service

Go independant then and save £££ and keep warranty intact.
