    Default Alarm not working

I tested my standard vx car alarm today, and for some reason it does not work, when the alarm is activated the hazards come on but no audible warning ? i have checked the fuse and that seems ok, has any one else encounted this problem or is there a quick fix, thanks

the siren is in the rear cubby holes on the laft hand side iirc, (from standing behind the car) check its connected. Its just a 12v siren, if its failed try Maplins or an alarm shop as most house alarms also run on 12v.

Is it that easy? As you know the vectra alarm is a joke! I was always in the opinion that it was to hard to change cos of the canbus? If this is just a straight swap then I'm definitely up for this.

If it is a can bus alarm it doesnt get a 12v when triggered, i found this out when i fitted my add on Meta device to call my mobile when the alarm is triggered. I had to split the siren open and solder directly onto the siren wire inside as this did get 12v.

I would say to split the siren open, then plug it in and trigger the alarm and measure voltage at the actual siren inside (just red & black wire). Chances are its a knackered siren i reckon as your hazards flash.
