Optional Extras....?

I bought myself a second hand Vectra yesterday, a 2.2DTi SRi.

Is there any way I can find out what optional extras the vehicle has?

It's got leather seats, Sat nav and front and rear parking sensors, which I'm guessing aren't standard SRi equipment.

I'm getting some insurance quotes together and some won't even quote me (AA) until I'm 100% about the option extras.

Rung the dealership (non Vx) and they can't really tell me, I could try contacting the first owner but could a call to Vx get me anywhere?

You may find out from Vx but I doubt even they would know for certain.

As far as I know though it should not matter (as far as insurance goes) providing these were factory fitted extras as opposed to modifications added after the car was purchased.

It should be easy to tell from the fittings whether they were original (even if not standard) for the car. My Elite has a number of options but these don't matter as far as my insurance goes.

I'm struggling to even find a customer service number on the Vx website!

I rang my current insurer to change my existing policy to cover the period from when I pick up the new car until the end of the policy (only about 10 days) and just gave them a brief rundown and they seemed happy, as did Churchill when I rang them for a quote. The AA didnt want to know, basically told me until I knew 100% they were unable to provide me with a quotation

I'm not sure about the SatNav, but if it is integrated into the MID, then it is standard and the car is probably the SRi SATNAV model
Again, same with the parking sensors, if they are integrated then they are probably standard

Checking the original specification order sheet for the SRi, these are optional extras :
Leather seat trim, including heated front seats, seat facings and door armrests
Front and rear distance parking sensors

Personally, I'd consider them as standard
Try two quotes; one for the SRi and one for the SRi SATNAV
Also check the vehicle documents, you might find the car is indeed the latter version

Thanks for that info, I don't actually take possession of the vehicle until next friday, so won't get to see the vehicle documents until then. I must say the Vx website isn't very useful at all.

If so, was this on their own deal or Network Q?

The dealership is not supposed to release the vehicle until they have seen the Cert of Motor Insurance?!

Or have you signed the paperwork, subject to insurance
If this is the case, the sales person should have advised of this at the time!?!

I haggled on my deal "subject to insurance"
They allowed me to phone on my own insurer, their insurer, and VX insurance, and all three quotes were acceptable
Having satisfied that term, the deal was "subject to satisfactory road test in daylight conditions"

It's the first time I've bought a car from a dealership, and in an odd turn of events it actually came from a Skoda dealer. The car had been traded in against a Skoda and I happened upon it completely by chance.

I've to go in and see the manager of the dealerships next week before I pick up the vehicle, they may ask to see a certificate of insurance then, I'm not sure.

I have a 53 plated SRi 2.2 DTi, and it doesnt have Leather, Sat Nav or Parking Sensor's.

Dont know if this helps or not.

What year is it David??

Surely you must be able to download the brouchure from the year it was made, and that will show you what options were available.
