Default Anyone bought a garden shed recently ?

Iím retiring the garden shed (or should I say itís been condemned)

Iím looking to get a 6ft x 10ft (canít fit longer/wider and donít want smaller).

Just wondering if anyone had bought one recently Ė there are loads of sites on the internet (and some really low prices - £290 Ė for a 6 x 10) e.g. http://www.waltons.co.uk/wooden-sheds/10-x-6/01OVEA1006
I obviously want to get the best deal possible but my concern is that if I buy cheap the quality/lifetime will be cr@p).

Iím based in the central Scotland area from a delivery point of view but most companies seem to do good UK delivery deals.

    Thanks in advance

Thanks Gas Man - I want to go for a wooden one. It makes adding internal shelves and attaching to external securing post (with big nails) much easier. I cemented two wooden post in for the present shed at each end (we can get some serious winds here)

I bet you electric screwdriver came in handy

We've just bought one from them (an 8x6ft) and the speed of delivery and quality is good.

Just don't accept the delivery if its not complete - ours had the floor missing and we were promised it would be delivered in two/three days but a week later we discovered that it hadn't been ordered. In the end we bought some OSB locally so we could build it and Walton's are going to reimburse the cost of the floor.

I built my own, so sturdy you can do pull ups on the roof beams. Its 10 x 8 with an apex roof, made from fully tongue and grooved part rounded log effect pressure treated timber. All the supports are CLS 60 x 50mm (canadian lumber standard timber for the uninitiated). Its on a par with the cabins you see rather than the sheds - but it cost me £600 in materials inc pressure treated fence posts as bearers and waterproof P5 chipboard floor. I did have some pics somewhere but cant find em. Oh and it took 3 days to build with help from my brother. But its a great shed, I could live in it. In fact the wife insists.

Thanks for the feedback JuzzyD - The price seemed good, glad to know the quality is also good.

Wow, that sounds like the rolls-royce of sheds Rob - I would not want to put any cr@p in it. The only thing missing from making it your castle is the moat and the drawbridge

I would like to be in the shed, But I am still decorating, at the moment I am painting the lounge ceiling, this decoration is becoming a monumentus job.

I bought a shed about 6 weeks ago, totally mobile, in silver cost the best part of 10k imported from Czech Republic.

Like it VV, did not realise you carried the lawnmomer and garden tools around with you. Are you thinking about window boxes - it would be a pretty unique mod

P.S. You better watch out she will hear you being nasty about her
